Scientific Background of Matthias Rauterberg (Short Biography):
Prof. Dr. (G.W.) Matthias Rauterberg has held teaching and research positions at the Technical University of Hamburg-Harburg (D), University of Oldenburg (D), and Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (CH). He was a senior researcher and lecturer for 'human-computer interaction' and 'usability engineering' in industrial engineering and computer science  at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH) and at the University of Zurich. He was the head of the Man-Machine Interaction research group (MMI) of the Institute of Hygiene and Applied Physiology (IHA) at the Department of Industrial Engineering (ETH). He holds a Diploma Degree (M.Sc.) in Computer Science, a Diploma Degree (M.Sc.) in Psychology, and a Bachelor Degree (B.A.) in Philosophy. He finished his PhD in Computer Science/Mathematics at the University of Zurich (Institute for Informatics). He was full professor for 'Interactive System Design' and core chair in the research group 'Designed Intelligence' at the Department Industrial Design; he is now retired and professor emeritus of the Eindhoven University of Technology (The Netherlands). For the period 2004-2007 he was appointed as visiting professor at the Kwansei Gakuin University (Japan). He was appointed as guest professor at School of Design, Jiangnan University (2011-2013), East China University of Science and Technology (2013-2016), and Shanghai Jiao Tong University (2020). He was chair of the Technical Committee on Entertainment Computing in the International Federation for Information Processing - IFIP (2013-2015, 2016-2018). He is also the co-editor in chief of the international journal on 'Entertainment Computing' (Elsevier).

Rauterberg M. (2007). Holder of the Silver Core Award of the
International Federation for Information Processing (IFIP) for exceptional service.
Since 2020 he is elected Fellow of IFIP.
